Walking and Hiking – a sea of mountains!

Discover fascinating waterfalls, the Tux creek, the romantic mountain lakes, the ice rifts on the Hintertux glacier and much, much more. Whether adventure, action or peace and quiet - the region, on an altitude of up to 3250 meters, offers optimal conditions for sports and nature lovers! Exploring the Glacier

From July to September, you can go on guided tours of the Hintertux glacier! Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, an experienced guide from the Tuxertal ski school will take you on an exciting and adventureous journey to hights of up to 3.250 m above sea level! Find out fascinating facts about the surrounding mountains and admire the marvellous views. Walk over ice that is thousands of years old, past mighty turquoise chunks of ice and learn about the formation and structure of the glacier. 

Discovering the Zillertal on two wheels

Whether you are a beginner, a professional or an entire family: More than 800 km of well-kept cycle routes of all difficulty levels are available to you. You can choose from a relaxed cycle along the flat route next to the river, or even conquer a mountain of more than 3.000 metres on your mountainbike! Nordic Walking through the picturesque tux mountain scenery!

Train your whole body while really experiencing the Tyrolean natural beauty! For it to be really effective, we recommend an introductory Nordic Walking course with a qualified professional trainer. The nordicsports active center is located in Tux – as the whole area offers ideal conditions for lovers of sport and nature alike! The idyllic mountain and glacier landscape, ranging from 1.3000 to 3.250 metres above sea level, with its fresh and healthy mountain air, offers not only 350 km of signposted hiking trails, but also 80 km suitable for Nordic Walking in summer! 

Rock Climbing - the new trend.
