Winter Holidays in Tux

Fun on the slopes – with ski or snowboard

What a fantastic feeling! Tux is one level higher ... in the glittering white of the Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000. On the altitude of up to 3.250 meters above sea level, snow-white winter landscapes can be found in Tux, undisturbed and ready to explore.

One of Tux’ special attractions is the "Glacier Tour" – with 72 km of slopes and 15,000 meters of altitude change, it's a fascinating skiing challenge for a day trip!

Experience it too: 225 km of slopes, with 800 hectares of slope surface, and 62 lifts – with a transport capacity of 107,800 people per hour! All these factors offer a new and exciting experience in the snow – with no queues! Additionally, the Hintertux glacier guarantees snow from October to May, and the downhill slopes to Hintertux, Lanersbach and Vorderlanersbach make Tux one of the leading winter sports resorts of the Alps.

Feel it too: Guaranteed snow throughout the year, powder snow from October to of May, and slopes all the way down to the valley!

Cross-country skiing - Skating

The region also boasts cross-country skiing tracks: 14 km of classicla tracks (from Vorderlanersbach to Madseit) and 14 km of skating tracks in Juns/Madseit. The tracks are maintained by the tourist board and are open to use free of charge. Please note the direction of the tracks!

Off the slopes

However, it’s not just the skiers and snowboarders that will enjoy a winter holiday in Tux: You can also go skitouring, tobogganing, ice skating, explore 18 km of cross-country skiing tracks or try out snow shoe walking on 38 km of well-kept winter hiking trails. There are also indoor swimming pools, bowling alleys, gyms, indoor tennis & squash courts, and much more to guarantee sporting action! Then, finish off the day in one of the many après ski bars, like the Sommerbergalm, the Hohenhaus Tenne, the Almhit or the Hexenkessel – before enojoying a delicious evening meal in one of the numerous restaurants in Tux. There is a nightliner bus in Tux – so you can try the one or the other traditional Schnaps!

For those that prefer a more romantic holiday, why not try a sociable evening in a traditional mountain cabin, by a roaring open fireplace...followed by tobogganing down one of the 3 illuminated natural toboggan runs! Another highlight is the curling on the natural ice rink in Lanersbach. It's especially fun in the evenings with friends, acquaintances or the whole family, plus the ice rink can easily be reached via the illuminated winter trail alongside the small stream running through the Tux valley.
